‘Captain America: Civil War’ Trailer: Black Widow and Hawkeye Duke It Out
Now that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has arrived in theaters, it’s time to start looking forward to another epic superhero battle. Captain America: Civil War hits theaters in just over a month, and though this international trailer features familiar scenes, it also offers some new footage, including a special moment between Black Widow and Hawkeye.
Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow share an intense moment in the new international trailer, with Natasha pausing mid-fight to ask if they can still be friends when all of this is over. “Depends on how hard you hit me,” her longtime partner responds. It’s good to know that some of the Avengers aren’t taking things too personally.
The trailer also delivers slightly extended versions of a few key scenes from previous sneak peeks, including a bit more of the convo between Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers and Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark that leads to the latter quipping about how he’d like to punch Cap in his perfect teeth. Okay, some of the heroes are definitely taking it personally.
Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6.
