Cancellations, Changes for Sioux Falls ‘Winter Weekend’ Events
The prospects of some less-than-ideal weather are forcing some changes to week three of the Sioux Falls Winter Weekends.
With the National Weather Service calling for very windy conditions and the possibility of some light snow Friday (December 8) and Saturday (December 9), all evening events have been canceled.
One Winter Weekend activity that will go on as scheduled is the 'Grinch Event' Saturday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The location of the event has been moved indoors to Tuthill House (3600 South Cliff Ave.)
Activities include:
- Decorating a Grinch Bag
- Making a paper-chain Grinch
- Listening to the story 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'
As of now, Sunday's events will go on as scheduled:
FREE FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENTS (1:00 PM to 5:00 PM): The Grinch tried to steal Christmas, but in the end, his small heart grew three sizes when he learned the true meaning of the holiday. Join Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation and Siouxland Libraries for a fun-filled afternoon of Grinch activities. Decorate a Grinch Bag, make a paper chain Grinch, listen to the story “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and so much more! Story will be read at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
GLICE & ICE BUMPER CARS: Swing down and check out our new Ice Bumper Cars and Glice Rink. Ice Bumper Cars are limited and require a purchased ticket to ride.
