Alzheimer’s Patient Found Safe

Sgt. Huntimer and the Sioux Falls Police say an 83-year-old woman who has Alzheimer’s disease has been found safe this morning.

Alice Mendel of Sioux Falls was last seen at around 4:00 AM Friday at a relative’s home near 24th and Fairlane, which is north of 26th Street and west of Interstate 229. It is believed she left the residence on foot.

Alice was found about three blocks away in an unlocked car. She was not injured. She was found about 8am and is in the process of being returned to her family.
