Good Eats Creator Alton Brown Heads To Sioux Falls In November

TV personality, food show presenter, author, voice actor, YouTuber, and cinematographer Alton Brown is bringing his newest live show to Sioux Falls later this year.

'An Evening of Alton Brown' is Wednesday, November 4th at the Washington Pavilion.

Brown is best known for creating and hosting the television shows Good Eats, Iron Chef America, Cutthroat Kitchen, and Food Network Star.

He's also built one of the most successful culinary touring franchises ever, performing live in more than 300 cities for well over half a million fans.

Brown got his start in television in the 1980s as a cinematographer for music videos, working on videos such as R.E.M.'s "The One I Love". In the 1990s, he became dissatisfied with the quality of TV cooking shows, prompting him to produce his own show.

Tickets for the Sioux Falls show go on sale to Washington Pavilion Donors, July 29th at 10:00 AM; to members and subscribers, July 30th at 10:00 AM; and to the general public, July 31st at 10:00 AM.

I am a longtime fan of the television show Unsolved Mysteries. The classic version from the 80s/90s. I remember a few times the late Robert Stack introduced a mystery in South Dakota.

When it comes to South Dakota and Hollywood, we've seen our fair share of films that have used our state as the backdrop for a number of productions over the years. They may not have always filmed here, but movie folk love to set stories here.

We're all familiar with the blockbusters like 1990's Dances With Wolves, 1959's North By Northwest, and more recently, 2007's National Treasure: Book of Secrets. But our state's life on the big screen goes back nearly 100 years.

According to IMDb, it all started with Courtin' Wildcats, a 1929 film which, like so many of the films on this list, is a Western set in the time before South Dakota became a state in 1889.
