Joe Perry tweets that Aerosmith will announce "new tour dates with a few surprises very soon." This will be the second leg of their Global Warming Tour, which went out this summer with special guest Cheap Trick. They are expected to be out from October through December with their new album, Music From Another Dimension, set for release on November 6th.

Yesterday it was announced that the Geoffrey Beene Foundation has launched the third Geoffrey Beene’s Rock Stars of Science campaign celebrating the Geoffrey Beene Dream Team at the Geoffrey Beene Cancer Research Center at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Perry will be featured with the Dream Team in GQ magazine's December's "Men of the Year" issue. In 2009, Perry was part of a panel that went before Congress with the goal of bringing awareness to science. At the time, Perry said, "There's a movement to try and show just how much glamour there is in [being a scientist]. They are rock stars and they do have groupies and they do have parties and they do have a lot of fun." Following the question-and-answer session with Congress, Perry and some of the scientists had a jam session.
