A Seattle TV Station (King 5) has aired a mocking, almost disrespectful report on 'Kurt Cobain Day', with the reporter referring to Cobain as the 'well-known heroin addict who shot himself 20 years ago'.

Cobain's hometown of Aberdeen, Washington declared February 20th as Kurt Cobain Day, marking what would have been his 47th birthday, and unveiled a statue in his honor.

According to Rolling Stone, the "Crying Cobain" statue, which features a solitary tear running down his cheek and makes him look more like Jesus than punk rocker, was installed in the town's museum and greeted by Nirvana fans with a mixture of confusion and shock.

The sculptor has been working on the piece for nearly two decades following Cobain's suicide.
