A Friend of Mine Experienced the Hail Storm that Interrupted the Steely Dan Concert at the Red Rocks
A friend, co-worker, and craft beer connoisseur, Scott Smith took a trip to the famed Red Rocks amphitheater in Colorado to catch one of his all-time favorite bands, Steely Dan Monday night.
I, a fan of the classic band myself, asked him to send a few updates and, if possible, a pic or two of the show. I did not expect this. Here's the first text:
Unbelievable. It f%$#&*g hailed at Red Rocks! Steve Winwood was performing and had to cut it short. Almost ten thousand people ran for cover. Drifts of hail. WOMEN in flip flops. We all got nailed hard. It hurt! They are shoveling it now. I picked up a sandwich board and took cover under it with 3 others. Jesus is mad at Donald Fagen, obviously. They haven't cancelled this thing yet... Stand by...
I saw a look of horror in some faces. AND heard screams. Some were my own. The show is going on! - Scott
Shortly after this pic, the show resumed.
And he got his t-shirt.
