You drive through Sioux Falls neighborhoods and it looks like people are preparing for giant bonfires and cookouts (which we SHOULD be) following last week's ice and snow storm. Instead, we brace for another round.

Our friends at KSFY-TV and the National Weather Service have issued a Winter Storm Warning for Sioux Falls and the surrounding area (which you can see in red on the map above)

Snow could be heavy at times through the day Thursday with wind gusts over 30-40 miles an hour.

The storm should move out of the area late Thursday night, leaving behind six to nine inches of snow across areas in southwest Minnesota with winds continuing to gust over 30 miles an hour through the night. Here in Sioux Falls, the latest predictions have 3-6 inches.

We'll continue to update you as the weather changes. We'll also have closings, cancellations and delays updated as well.

Looking ahead at the weekend, they are forecasting highs in the mid to upper 40's both Saturday and Sunday with a chance of rain both days.
