I remember going to Fargo in 1997 to see the last Fleetwood Mac reunion tour. We sat in the Fargodome for the better part of three hours listening to all those great songs with a smile on our faces and a tear in our eyes because we never thought we'd see it again. By the end of the tour the following year, Christine McVie announced she was done and was retiring.

Several years ago, the four remaining artists: Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie went on tour and we went to see the show in Sioux City and while it was still a fantastic show, we really missed hearing Christine.

On Fleetwood Mac's last tour a couple of years ago, Christine actually joined the band on a few shows in England, coming out to sing a couple of 'her' Mac songs. She found she missed her old bandmates and when Fleetwood asked if she would rejoin the band to record some new music and tour the world again, at a very young 71, she agreed and the tour kicked off Tuesday night (September 30) at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

Thanks to friends who were in the audience and posting on Facebook like crazy, I almost felt like I was there. Almost. Nothing can replace the buzz of being at a live concert, hearing those familiar opening notes of some of your favorite songs and getting caught up in the crowd frenzy.

From all reports, Buckingham is playing better than ever (one of the most underrated guitar players in rock history in my opinion), the rhythm section of John McVie and Fleetwood were spot on and the vocals of Nicks and Christine McVie sounded awesome in the videos I watched.

There's still time to see them on their reunion tour, but last night's tour kick off was as close as they're coming on the announced dates. After checking out the set list below and a fan shot video of the opening number, it looks like it will be worth the drive.
