U2's Bono brought Spider-Man to the Broadway stage -- and now someone is bringing Bono to the spider stage. A newly identified species of spider living in California's Joshua Tree National Park has been named after Bono.

Biologist Jason Bond of Auburn University recently discovered 33 new species of trapdoor spider, with three of them found in the Mojave Desert park that gave its name to U2's 1987 album. Bond called one of the spiders A. bonoi. Bond has named previous spider discoveries for Neil Young, Angelina Jolie, Barack Obama and Stephen Colbert.
