U2, Elton & Others: End Of The World Show?

Elton John, U2, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, System of a Down and others have been invited by Guatemala's Culture Ministry to perform at a show there on December 21st in celebration of the end of the Mayan calendar. It would be part of the World Summit for Humanity. Culture Minister Carlos Batzin says December 21st marks the conclusion of the Grand Cycle of the Mayan calendar called 13 B'aktun and the beginning of a new era of 5,200 years. However, there are those who believe the end of the calendar marks the end of the world. Also invited are tenor Placido Domingo and Janet Jackson.
