Jason Elmore and Hoodoo Witch rolled into snowy Sioux Falls from Texas on Saturday night (April 20) bringing not only the blues, but influences of jazz, country, rock & roll and even a little metal to the party!
Along with B.B. King and Freddie King, the late Albert King was known as one of the three Kings of the Blues. Now he joins the rest of the 'royal' family in their rightful place: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
An old friend and former co-worker of mine posted this video on Facebook earlier this week. It's from the Cherokee, Iowa Jazz & Blues Festival that took place last weekend. They had a number of area bands booked, but the scene-stealer was a 10-year old who busted out what we call the guitar players National Anthem: Jimi Hendrix' "Voodoo Chile".
