Billie Joe Armstrong Was ‘Drinking Heavily’ According To Green Day Drummer’s Ex Wife
The ex-wife of Green Day drummer Tre Cool has told Celebuzz that Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong had been drinking heavily the night that he had an onstage meltdown in Las Vegas, an incident which prompted the punk rocker to enter rehab two days later. Cool's former spouse, Claudia Suarez Wright, said that Armstrong had been sober for a year but hit the bottle again on the day of the iHeartRadio Festival, which took place in Vegas last Friday (September 21st).
Green Day Album Arrives As Billie Joe Heads To Rehab
The first of three new Green Day albums, Uno!, arrives in stores on Tuesday (September 25th). Uno! follows up 2009's 21st Century Breakdown, but unlike that disc or 2004's American Idiot, the new set is not a concept album. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong told us a while back that it was important that Green Day move forward artistically with each new album:

Green Day played a two-and-a-half hour show at the tiny Irving Plaza nightclub in New York City on Saturday night (September 15th) to promote the launch of a new music streaming service from Nokia. According to Loudwire, the marathon set spanned the punk trio's entire career and contained nearly 40 songs, including classics, rarities, hits and covers of AC/DC's "Highway to Hell," Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train," the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction" and the Isley Brothers' "Shout."
