A man who was allegedly drunk-driving a stolen car through Tacoma, Washington accidentally pocket-dialed 9-1-1 from his cell phone. Dispatchers answering the 47-year-old man's first call, at 11:30 p.m., said they overheard a woman screaming and a man telling her to stop. Police tracked the call and pursued the vehicle after seeing the driver run a red light. Attempts to pull the car over were unsuccessful but the man stopped once to let the woman out of his car. The man finally stopped, fled on foot, and managed to get away from police. They soon discovered the vehicle, registered in Vancouver, was stolen. Around 7 a.m. the next morning, police got another call from the same number. Police traced the call and found the man sitting in another vehicle with a woman. The man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Police said he was drunk and had no idea that his cell phone dialed 911 twice.
