One student is dead and several injuries have been reported in a Tuesday morning shooting at a high school near Portland, Oregon and the unknown shooter is dead a police representative said.

According to KGW.com:

Police responded shortly after 8 a.m. to a report of shots fired at Reynolds High School near Portland, OR.

A number of emergency vehicles have been staged near the school. A significant number of officers have arrived and surround the school.

A Multnomah County sheriff's office spokesman confirms the response is for an active shooter.

A student tweeted that the school is in lockdown and a number of police cars have rolled up. A second student has tweeted that she heard gunfire. A third reported a police officer racing towards the school's gymnasium.

8:51 a.m.: Students at Reynolds High School are filing out of the school with their arms held over their heads. Authorities are evacuating the school.

8:53 a.m.: Police recommend that parents stay away from Reynolds High School.

8:54 a.m.: FBI is on scene at Reynolds High School.

8:54 a.m.: Police recommend that parents meet their children who are students at the Cherry Park Safeway, 2501 S.W. Cherry Park Road, Troutdale.

8:56 a.m.: Parents, some in pajamas, are arriving at the Cherry Park Safeway to find their children. Some are frantically on cell phones.

8:57 a.m.: Police are reporting that there were three shooters; two fled the scene. One of the shooters was caught at a church across the street.
