In other words you're not only searching for career opportunities, but a family-friendly atmosphere to flourish in. When taking all factors into account, our fair state ended up in 10th position. Not bad, when you consider United Van Lines just named South Dakota the number one moving destination in the U.S.

The United Van Lines study indicated that 60% of people moving to South Dakota, did so because of a job or job transfer, but there are many other reasons why more and more people are moving here.

In the affordable housing category, South Dakota was fourth. We came in third in the lowest unemployment category and for low childcare costs, the state ranked 2nd.
