Sioux Falls Skyforce Get Massive Win Over Iowa Energy [VIDEO]
On Monday, the Sioux Falls Skyforce got bad news in that Donald Sloan signed an overseas contract to play in China. On Tuesday, the good news was that Sloan’s services were not necessary in vanquishing the Iowa Energy 96-79.
The Guangdong Southern Tigers gain will eventually be the Skyforce’s loss, but troubles for Iowa (7-23) were glaring. In scoring just the 79 points, Iowa shot only 33 percent and turned the ball over 21 times. Things were so bad their best performer Jerrid Famous only played 21 minutes and scored 17 points.
For Sioux Falls (19-12), the lead got to as many as 27 points. Even committing 25 turnovers did not stop the onrush that came from numerous places and from a wide array of sources. Mustapha Farrakhan and Mark Tyndale led the way with 15 points apiece with Damian Saunders adding 14 counters. There will be a week during the NBA Development League All-Star Break to rest before the same two teams play again on Tuesday night in Sioux Falls.
Post-game, Skyforce forward Bryant Voiles revealed that being ready when the team needs him has been important in his rookie campaign. Admittedly, he says more work needs to be done for him to make an impact in the D-League, but is impressed with the professional manner the Skyforce are conducting business.
