Rush drummer Neil Peart's Taking Center Stage: A Lifetime of Live Performance DVD, scheduled for release on October 15th, will have a full-color retrospective/transcription coffee table companion book. Peart wrote the foreword as well as supervising the entire project.

The book combines detailed musical transcriptions of 17 songs, historical writing, instructional text and photos. The book is divided into chapters corresponding to every Rush tour from the time Peart joined the band in 1975 up to the present.

In other Rush book news, Clockwork Angels: The Novel is at number-18 on The New York Times Hardcover Fiction Best Sellers list. Rush and their Clockwork Angels tour is in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday.
