Well, the Rolling Stones are definitely gearing up for a new album, live shows -- and maybe more. The band has been photographed leaving a Paris recording studio, with Mick Jagger confirming the band's current sessions by tweeting a photo of himself holding a Fender Stratocaster with the message: "Had fun in the Paris studio this week!" It's unclear whether the Stones were recording new material or simply performing or being interviewed for their upcoming 50th anniversary HBO documentary set to air this fall.

Drummer Charlie Watts admitted that upon joining the Stones in early-1963, becoming famous -- let alone being regarded as living legends -- truly seemed impossible: "No, no, every band I'd ever been in lasted a week. I mean, you only lasted as long as the guy in the club, or whatever, would book you for. So, if they didn't like you, y'know, it was two gigs and that was it. So I always thought it was gonna last a week."

The Stones' legendary unreleased film Charlie Is My Darling - Ireland 1965 will have its world premiere on September 29th at the 50th New York Film Festival. An encore screening of the film will take place on October 3rd with both screenings scheduled for the Walter Reade Theatre.

Bits and pieces of the film have slipped out in various rock documentaries, with poor quality copies making the rounds on the bootleg circuits for years.

The press release sates: "It has long been a holy grail of rock fans, surfacing in bits and pieces and tantalizing but frustratingly un-synched fragments. The band is shown traveling through the Irish countryside by train; dashing from cabs to cramped, basement dressing rooms through screaming hordes of fans. Motel rooms host impromptu songwriting sessions and familiar classics are heard in their infancy as riff and lyric are united. This new 2012 version of the film with added never-before-seen footage. . . candid, off-the-cuff interviews are juxtaposed with revealing, comical scenes of the band goofing on one another as well as unsuspecting outsiders, and offers an unmatched look inside the day-to-day life of the Stones."

On November 6th, the director's cut, the producer's cut, and this new 2012 version of Charlie Is My Darling - Ireland 1965 will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and as part of a "Super Deluxe Box Set."
