Record Lows in Sioux Falls, Aberdeen & Elsewhere

Sioux Falls broke a long-standing temperature record Friday morning.

The National Weather Service says the temperature at Joe Foss Field got down to 23 degrees just after 5:30am.

Not only did it break the record, we were actually the coldest spot in the United States!

The old record of 32 was set 85 years ago, in 1929.

Aberdeen also got down to 23 degrees. That broke a record of 29 set in 1926 and tied in 1929.

And Sisseton's 28 degree low broke a 31-year-old record.

So pat yourself on the back and be proud.
