There are some things it's never a good idea to do in a school zone. One is speeding and another is to drive drunk.

And when a motorist does both at the same time, it's just that much worse.

Sioux Falls Police Officer Sam Clemens says one motorist did just that, and on the first day of school, no less. It happened on West 18th Street, near Lowell Elementary School.

Clemens says the man was driving 30 miles per hour over the speed limit, which the signs say drops to 15 "when children are present." And children were present--they were just getting to school.

His blood alcohol content was measured at .175, more than twice the legal limit.

The driver's name was not immediately available.
