Pete Townshend has been hard at work on his latest musical project, called Floss, for several years now, and has debated whether or not some of the songs would be suitable for a new Who album.

Townshend's autobiography, Who I Am will be published on October 8th. He and Roger Daltrey, who'll tour behind the band's 1973 rock opera Quadrophenia starting in November, recently spoke about whether or not having a Townshend composition sung by Daltrey automatically makes it "Who music."

Townshend pondered the question in his usual lighthearted manner: "I think it's interesting that when you look at other artists, for example, as a Bruce Springsteen fan from the very, very start, y'know, I wanna hear him grow from within the framework from what I recognize, and what I believe is Bruce Springsteen at his best. I don't want him playing all that hillbilly music! All that hee-haw on the Hudson River nonsense, y'know? So, I think in a sense, we're in the same boat. (Roger Daltrey): Maybe we can do that? (laughter)."
