Ted Nugent has blasted Dee Snider for comments the Twisted Sister frontman made in a recent interview.

Snider told Noisecreep, "Ted's always been a gun-toting conservative. But what gets me is that he was actually a draft dodger! I mean, to the point where he didn't bathe for a week, and vomited on himself to deliberately avoid the draft. I totally understand why he did that, but all of these Republicans who love Ted don't seem to know or remember that too well."

Nugent took to his Twitter to write, "Shame on Dee Snider for falling for the big lie. I challenge you to man up to the truth. We expected better."

Snider is referring to a 1977 interview with High Times where Nugent described how he got out of the Vietnam draft. Nugent has since disavowed the interview, claiming that he had a student deferment and that he'd made up the story. Snopes later discovered that Nugent did have a deferment, but it expired in 1968. He failed a physical a year later and was classified 1-Y -- "qualified for service only in time of war or national emergency" -- which was changed to 4-F in 1971. There's no record on how he failed, so we can't say which version is correct.
