No Moody Blues Reunion, Yet
A Moody Blues reunion isn't coming anytime soon, but it's a little more likely now than it had been.
Denny Laine says he's finally been "back in touch with the old Moody Blues guys that I hadn't been in touch with for a while. Now, we've all got pretty friendly." He doesn't see much of a chance of a mega-reunion of his old band -- "but the fact [is] that people are talking again, and music is already the subject again."
Though it won't be with the rest of the original lineup, Laine plans to tour later this year with a show built around the Moodys' first album, Magnificent Moodies, which featured "Go Now." Much like Peter Frampton last year with Frampton Comes Alive or Brian Wilson a decade earlier with Pet Sounds, Denny will perform the album in its entirety -- not just the hits. He tells us he's getting help on putting a band together from Steve Van Zandt, who most recently organized The Rascals' Once Upon a Dream reunion shows.
