All three members of Led Zeppelin, plus drummer Jason Bonham, made a rare public appearance Tuesday night when they walked the red carpet at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York for the U.S. premiere of their concert film, Celebration Day, filmed in December 2007 during their one-off reunion show at London's O2 Arena.

They were joined on the carpet by Stevie Nicks, Mick Jones of Foreigner, who was also on the bill that night; Paul Stanley of KISS; Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett and Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer Chad Smith.

For Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones, it was the first opportunity for him to see the entire film. "I've only seen little bits of it... I've never seen it on the big screen all at once, so it's an exciting night for me." It was the same for Jason who told us, "I wanted to wait and see it this way... It's an honor for me to be in Led Zeppelin for a night."

And for Chad Smith, it was his second time seeing the performance as he was in the audience that night in London. "I felt like I had the Willy Wonka ticket... It was just a magical night and everybody there felt so lucky to be there."

Three more premieres for Celebration Day are on tap -- London, Berlin and Tokyo. It will be shown in U.S. theaters on October 17th followed by its release on DVD, Blu-ray and CD on November 19th.

John Paul Jones on attending the premiere of Led Zeppelin's Celebration Day: "Well I've only seen little bits of it. I'm looking forward to it. I've never seen it on the big screen all at once, so it's an exciting night for me."

Led Zeppelin fan Pam Payne attended the red carpet (and even scored a ticket to the screening!) She said she leans towards the Blues of Zep and really liked the smiles and smirks shared between the guys during the songs.

Again, unfortunately 'Celebration Day' will NOT be screened at any Sioux Falls theatres next week. The DVD/CD will be released in November.

Thanks to Pam for these shots of Robert Plant and Jimmy Page arriving at the Ziegfeld for the screening in New York City Wednesday evening!
