King Crimson have officially announced a previously mentioned summer U.S. tour, as well as plans for a new 12-inch single.

Shows begin in June at Seattle, with stops also planned in San Francisco, Chicago and Mexico City, among others. These dates, which are attached below, are their first in three years. Venue announcements for select shows on the Radical Action Tour will follow later.

Set for April release, King Crimson's as-yet-untitled single marks their first new music since 2003's The Power to Believe. Band founder Robert Fripp is joined by returning long-time Crimson members Tony Levin (who has worked with Fripp off and on since 1981) and Mel Collins (whose first Crimson appearance was in 1970). Newer collaborators include Jakko Jakszyk and four (yes, four) drummers: Bill Rieflin, Gavin Harrison, Pat Mastelotto and Jeremy Stacey.

Fripp has referred to this lineup as the “Double Quartet Formation,” adding that King Crimson are “likely to be making a lot more noise than before.” Fripp and Jakszyk are on guitars, Levin is on bass and Collins is on sax. Stacey and Rieflin add keyboards, as well.
