You're right if you think June has been a wet month so far in eastern South Dakota.

We really have had a lot of rain this month.

Kyle Weisser at the National Weather Service office in Sioux Falls calls it "making up for lost time."

He says from January 1 though May 30, the Sioux Falls area had 5 inches of precipitation.

But in about 8 days, many locations have had just under 5 1/2 inches, or more than they registered during the first 5 months of the year.

Weisser says we have a good chance for thunderstorms again as we get to the weekend, with temperatures in the 70s.
