If you ask him what his goal in life is, he will tell you that it's to inspire people to do what they love. His love is driving race cars.

Sure, he's not very tall and that will be one of the first things you notice about sprint car  driver Rico Abreu but don't be fooled by his stature, he can wheel a sprint car with the best of them and in true Californian style he is a gas man!

And he did so Sunday night winning The All Star Circuit Of Champions race at Huset's Speedway. His first ever time to win at Huset's Speedway, a place Rico always wanted to win at.

Rico, from Rutherford, California, took over the lead on lap 12 of the 30 lap main event from Brady Bacon out of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Then held off Mark Dobmeier to the end.

In victory lane Rico said this about beating Mark Dobmeier,

It’s special to get the win on Mark’s home turf. I saw him down there once had to get my elbows up.

Tim Kaeding from San Jose, California was fourth with Iowa's Terry McCarl in fifth.

The race was red flagged with four laps to go when Austen Wheatley of Lake Stevens, Washington flipped in turn two. Wheatley was unharmed in the crash but the car was destroyed.

In other classes of action, Trey Thesenvitz won the micro sprints making the winning pass in the final turn on Nick Kirkegaard who is dedicating his season to the loss of his mother who was the victim of a murder in Sioux Falls earlier this year.

Darrin Korthals wins number five on the season in the street stocks holding off rival Gary Brown, Jr. to second. Nick Barger earned his second victory of the year in the B mod division holding off defending champion Miah Christensen.

And it was another exciting night when the hobby stock feature race produced another first time ever winner. Logan Fitzpatrick held off a hard charging defending champion Zach Olivier. An emotional Fitzpatrick said in victory lane,

I owe everything to my dad
