My Kids’ Christmas List is Identical to My List When I was a Kid!
I was Christmas shopping for my kids this year and I had this reminiscent kind of feeling. Then it dawned on me. These are the same toys I remember getting for Christmas when I was a kid.
Some brands and retro toys are making a huge comeback. That means this dad is going to have all kinds of fun playing them! Look a these:
Classic Football Electronic Game - The 70's game sensation is back just like you remember. I once beat my opponent 77 - 3. Yes, I remember, Phil.
Classic Nintendo – Nintendo is offering a mini version of the original Nintendo system for $59.99 to play old-school video games. Remember Simon's Quest, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Double Dragon II: The Revenge, Dr. Mario, Final Fantasy, Galaga, Ghosts Goblins, and Pac-Man?
Ghostbusters – Because of the recent remake of the classic movie, Ghostbusters toys are on the shelves. I will say that (at least for me) the original Ghostbusters was 7,000 times better. Kids will love the remote-controlled car and Slimer action figures. Tip: do not put slime in mom's new toaster oven.
Pokemon – This summer, the Pokemon Go app was a phenomenon. So now, there is Pokemon everything. My Picachu underpants are proof.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – These characters have enjoyed success in recent years, including a new movie this year, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. So, the shelves will be filled with action figures and play sets.
Star Wars – The granddaddy of them all…Star Wars: Rogue One means the toys will be everywhere for a long, long time.
These toys were on my Christmas wish list when I was a kid, and shopping for them in stores are really bringing back the memories.
