Get a Sneak Peek of Harley-Davidson’s First Electric Motorcycle. Surprisingly, She’s Got Some Power

Harley-Davidson Motorcycles has given us a glimpse of one of their latest projects, a sleek, powerful, electric bike.

How would I handle an electric motorcycle? For those who know me know I love motorcycles. I’ve owned 7 different bikes to date and have driven the wheels off all of them. I would probably miss the sound and smell most of all. There is something about that satisfying deep rumble from the throaty H-D engines.

So, at my first glance at the video for Project LiveWire, surprisingly, I wasn’t disappointed. It’s got power and it doesn’t look like it was molded from a typical electric scooter mold.

Here’s a few of the specs:

  • It’ll hit 60 mph in under four seconds
  • 74 horsepower
  • 52 foot-pounds of torque and a top speed of 92 mph.
  • Lithium-ion battery with a range of 53 miles
  • Charges in 3.5 hours at 220 volts

Before the bike goes to mass production, Harley-Davidson would like your opinion. Check out the video below. And for more photos, check these out from Wired.com
