The IRS scam has victimized another person in Sioux Falls. Police say a caller told the 58-year old woman she owed the Internal Revenue Service $3,000 and needed to pay her debt with money cards.

The woman paid the caller with $1,500 in so-called "Green-dot" cards before she realized it was a scam.

Police Officer Sam Clemens reminds residents that the IRS does not do phone solicitations or e-mails to tell people they are delinquent in paying their taxes.

Clemens says the IRS also does not request payment by money orders or cards. He says anyone who gets such a call should contact the IRS.
