McCrossan Boys Ranch, along with the help of our sponsors, is pleased to present legendary baseball player Darryl Strawberry, joining us for our Banquet Auction on Thursday, April 28th at the Sioux Falls Convention Center at the Denny Sanford Premier Center. Darryl Strawberry has been called one of the most electrifying players in baseball. The right fielder was drafted right out of high school by the New York Mets, became Rookie of the Year in 1983, was voted to the All-Star Game eight times and played on four World Series Championship teams. But despite reaching the pinnacle of success, Strawberry’s career was often overshadowed by headline-making bad behavior that got the Mets Hall of Famer suspended three times from Major League Baseball. Darryl’s life was plagued with an abusive childhood, addictions, cancer, jail-time and more. It wasn’t an easy journey but Darryl is now on the right path. He is an ordained minister, author and co-founder of a treatment center in Florida. We are excited to have Darryl share his story of hope with us!
