The Eagles are dedicating 2013 to their 40th anniversary -- it's really their 42nd -- but that's not stopping Don Henley from doing solo work. He plans to release his long-awaited country album in May.

He says, "I’ve been working on it for the past three years. It’s a bit of a departure for me, so it’ll be interesting to see how it’s received."

Henley says the one former member the Eagles are thinking of having join them on their world tour is guitarist Bernie Leadon. The other two former members are Randy Meisner and Don Felder. The tour is slated to get going in June.

Henley performs Friday in Atlantic City -- not with the Eagles, as previously reported.
