This weekend, Sioux Falls welcomed home our 2006 Dakota Alliance Girls Soccer Club who just made history by winning the U17 USYS National Championship. The Parade of Champions was held at Yankton Trails Park at 10:00 AM Saturday and it was a chance for supporters to show their appreciation and congratulate the girls on their hard work.

Winning the USYS National Championship was no easy feat against a stout Texas team and there were plenty of nail-biting moments. Under the guidance coach Gabe Wortman and assistant coach Makayla Grady, the team needed to rally twice to claim the victory including a tense PK shootout to claim the title with a 5-4 victory.

The Sioux Falls community was following the exploits of this team from the Regional Tournament in STL to the Championships in Orlando. Social Media was abuzz with support for these young ladies. Not only has this journey been celebrated by the Sioux Falls Community, it is now inspiration for the next generation of DASC players. ~ DASC

This is the first United States Youth Soccer National Championship for Dakota Alliance, and with the talent and drive this organization has for the game, it won't be the last. Congratulations, girls!
