Cold Weather, As Promised

The cold weather that was predicted showed up as forecasters said it would.

We're talking about temperatures and wind chill low enough to call off school in many area districts. ?The wind chill reading in Sioux Falls at mid-day Thursday was 30 degrees below zero.

Cold weather generally leads to such questions as "Cold enough for ya?" And does anyone really respond with something like :Oh, no, I like it 10 or 15 degrees colder!"

Not me.

One of my late uncles summed it pretty well: "When it's too warm, you're uncomfortable. But when it's too cold, it hurts."

I always think of my uncle Ralph in cold weather.
