Cinema Falls launches its Spring 2014 season by rolling out the red carpet for the Oscar Nominated Shorts.
Saturday Feb 1st, nominees for Animated and Live Action Shorts will be shown as a single event with an intermission between. Check-in for online ticket buyers to pick up their 2014 special pass will begin at 4PM at the West Mall 7 Theatres, with films shown in the largest theater at 4:30PM. Tickets are $30. A limited number of $50 VIP passes will also be for sale. The $30 pass includes both film programs plus an after party with hot and cold appetizers and desserts at Minnehaha Country Club. The $50 pass includes both film programs and after party, but also includes reserved seating in the theatre and access to a special VIP lounge with champagne reception, private bar and private food stations. On Sunday, February 2nd Cinema Falls will present a Matinee featuring the five Documentary Shorts nominees. This event will be held at the Icon Event Hall at 402 N. Main. Doors open at 12:30pm with films beginning promptly at 1:30PM. Tickets are $15 online and at the door, with food and beverage available for purchase and couch seating for early bird attendees. A perennial favorite, the shorts program includes the five nominees in the categories of Animated, Live Action and Documentary Shorts. Winners in each category will be announced at the Academy Awards on March 2nd, and attendees enjoy the chance to improve their home ballot scores by seeing these films in advance of the telecast.

As of today, nearly 75% of tickets for the popular Animated and Live Action Shorts event are already sold. These films are unrated.
