Fire in Industrial Complex Destroys Tea Business
UPDATE: According to the Tea Storm Chasers, employees of Huck Finn Painting Company told the Tea Fire Department that one of their machines caught on fire. They tried unsuccessfully to put the fire out themselves. The machine, which was only about 5 years old, is a finishing machine. The employees were surprised to see such a high-tech piece of equipment catch on fire.
The Tea Fire Department is continuing to put out some final hot spots.
UPDATE: According to the Tea Storm Chasers, who are on the scene of the fire in Tea, in addition to Huck Finn Painting, other business located in the same complex are Reichel Insulation and C&C Painting
UPDATE: The Tea Fire Department is asking people to stay away from the area to allow fire crews better access to the scene of the fire.
UPDATE: KDLT's London Swan reports witnesses say they heard explosions coming from inside the burning building.
UPDATE: Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue are now on the scene of the business fire in Tea. As many as four agencies are now involved in fighting the fire.
According to the Tea Storm Chasers, fire crews from Tea are fighting a serious structure fire in the 27000 block of Linda Avenue. Fire crews reported heavy flames and smoke upon arrival.
Huck Finn Painting Company is the location of the fire according to a report from Tea Police.
They were advised that wood working equipment within the structure was on fire and that chemicals on scene could be dangerous.
Crews are taking a defensive approach to fighting the fire at this time.
