Very few music lovers are narrow-minded enough to focus strictly on one genre, but we often find it hard to imagine that our favorite artists are open-minded too, so it can be surprising to learn how eclectic their tastes are. Take, for example, the members of Slayer.

The tragic news of Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman's death last night (May 2) sent his friends and peers flooding onto Twitter and other social media to pay their tributes.

Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman has died at the age of 49, according to a statement released by the band today (May 2). He was with the group since their formation in 1981, and appeared on each of their studio albums, most recently 2009's 'World Painted Blood.'

No less than four albums from Metallica made the Top 10 list of "The Greatest Heavy Metal Albums Of All Time," as voted by the online readers of Rolling Stone magazine. The band's classic 1986 effort Master Of Puppets topped the survey, followed by Black Sabbath's 1970 landmark Paranoid at Number Two. In fact, the only band in the Top Five besides Metallica and Sabbath was Iron Maiden, who landed at Number Four with 1982's The Number Of The Beast.
