Colbert himself stopped by Letterman's couch today to talk about the transition, the first footage of which has made its way online!
It didn't take long for CBS to find a replacement for David Letterman.
The network has tabbed Stephen Colbert, from Comedy Central's 'The Colbert Report', to take over for Letterman when he retires sometime next year.

Last night, it was the Flaming Lips' turn, and they brought along a friend with a personal connection to the band, John Lennon's son, Sean Ono Lennon, on 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.'
