Watch Steve Winwood Join Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Onstage
Steve Winwood has been opening for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on their current tour in support of their new 'Hypnotic Eye' album. So far, they've played about 20 shows together since the tour started in early August.
Last night, at a stop at Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center, Winwood joined Petty and his band onstage for the first time for performances of two songs from his long career.
First he joined them for a run-though of Blind Faith's classic 'Can't Find My Way Home.' on which he sang and played guitar. You can see video of that performance above. After that, he switched to organ and played 'Gimme Some Lovin',' the 1966 hit that Winwood co-wrote and sang when he was only 18 years old. You can see video for that song below.
Petty and the Heartbreakers, along with Winwood, are on the road until Oct. 11, when this leg of the tour winds down in Los Angeles. You can see the remaining dates here:
