A Sioux Falls man was approached by two men on Tuesday at his home at East Sixth street and Bahnson Avenue demanding that he give them his cell phone.

"A little after ten o'clock at night, an individual was just pulling up into his residence. He was seated inside his vehicle with his door open," according to Police Sgt. Sean Kooistra.

"He reported that two subjects had approached him and yelled 'don't move don't move.' The individuals then attempted to rob him of his cell phone. However they were not able to do that. Eventually they took off running with nothing. They didn't get anything off of the individual. In fact the cell phone they attempted to get from him was used to call 911."

Kooistra says authorities are searching for two black males in connection with the attempted robbery.
