Roger Waters took his production of Pink Floyd's The Wall to Berlin, Germany last night, and on Tuesday he joined a protest to protect one of the last remaining sections of the Berlin Wall. It is being threatened with demolition to make room for a new building.

Waters says he is "not normally known for recommending the maintenance of walls. I'm more known for demanding they be torn down." He adds that it needs to stand as a memorial to the Cold War and to remember those whose life it impacted.

Waters staged an all-star version of The Wall in front of the Berlin Wall when it was torn down in 1990. Waters now takes his new production of the Wall tour to Dusseldorf, Germany on Friday.
