The Minnesota Vikings decided yesterday to activate Adrian Peterson for this weekend's upcoming game against the New Orleans Saints. The decision has cost the Vikings sponsorships and charity appearances.

The Vikings announced the decision yesterday on the base of letting due process play out. Ideally, after getting beat 30-7 against the Patriots last week, the Vikings are looking more so for wins. After General Manager Rick Spielman made the announcement, the snowball effect began.

Radisson Hotel's has been a long time sponsor of the Minnesota Vikings for many years. They sponsored the Vikings press conferences with the backdrop also. The chain released this statement yesterday:

""We are closely following the situation and effective immediately, Radisson is suspending its limited sponsorship of the Minnesota Vikings while we evaluate the facts and circumstances"

“We are disappointed and increasingly concerned by the recent incidents that have overshadowed this NFL season. We are not yet satisfied with the league’s handling of behaviors that so clearly go against our own company culture and moral code. We have shared our concerns and expectations with the league”

The Vikings have also now had a charity event cancelled with the decision. According to the Star Tribune and Pro Football Talk, St. Joseph's Home for Children and the Vikings have cancelled an appearance for Tuesday afternoon. The report states that the Vikings and St. Joseph's "mutually agreed" to the move.

With the amount of sponsorships that have pulled, it wouldn't be a surprise to see even more do so. With the NFL, the way to make a change is by the wallets. The motions are in place to make sure Peterson doesn't suit up on Sunday.
