Bloomington, MN-based Granite City Food & Brewery has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as the company prepares to divest its assets in a February auction.

According to a press release, the proposed auction process, if approved by the Bankruptcy Court, would allow interested parties to submit binding offers at the auction to acquire all of Granite City’s assets.

The company has acquired a loan to keep operations running uninterrupted until the auction.

Granite City opened its first restaurant in 1999; there are currently 25 Granite City restaurants in 13 states, including a location on Louise Ave in Sioux Falls.

Granite City features a line of hand-crafted beers brewed on-site.  The menu features contemporary American food made in its scratch kitchens.
