Pierre Cop Tasers 8-Year Old Girl

A Pierre, South Dakota police officer used a stun gun Friday on an 8-year old girl who was holding a knife and threatening to stab herself.

Pierre officers responded to a call of a suicidal girl who had stabbed herself in the leg. Officers found the girl holding a knife to her chest when they arrived. When they approached her, she turned the knife towards the officers and then back towards herself.

That's when the officer used his taser.

The girl had no knife wounds and the police chief says she was not hurt, but the girl's father wants the officer disciplined for using excessive force.

My youngest granddaughter is nine. She weighs about 55 pounds. I can't imagine having to use a stun gun to take a knife away from her.
