Are Pearl Jam Touring Baseball Stadiums This Summer?
It's possible Pearl Jam will be spending most of August playing major league baseball stadiums across the U.S. Their website temporarily leaked a tour schedule today, but there hasn't been an official announcement.
The dates were found by Alternative Nation and, if true, the band will play two nights each at Seattle's Safeco Field, Chicago's Wrigley Field and Boston's Fenway Park. They also listed a seventh date, at Washington-Grizzly Stadium, the football stadium located on the campus of the University of Montana in Missoula.
As a nod to Pearl Jam's hometown, the Seattle concerts were billed on their site as "Seattle Home Shows." Also, someone on the band's website forum said that they "talked with someone who was at the Southern Cal vs. University of Washington basketball game back on 12/29 down in LA and it just so happens that Jeff Ament was at the game. Jeff told him that they will be playing Seattle this summer (no date or venue) and that it had been far too long since they had played Seattle. Hopefully this is another confirmation."
Pearl Jam haven't played the U.S. since 2016. During that run, they played a pair of nights at Wrigley Field that resulted in last year's concert film Let's Play Two. These potential new dates fall in line with the band's existing calendar for this year, which consists of four dates in South America booked for March and a month-long tour of Europe that begins June 12.
