Minnesota Police Department Introduces School Resource Officers In Funny Photo Series
The 2022-2023 school year is underway and last week there were countless back-to-school photos shared across social media to prove it.
However, these photos were not shared exclusively by proud parents in the area. The Duluth Police Department also had its own series of back-to-school photos to introduce its School Resource Officers (SRO).
According to the SRO job description:
The Police Department maintains school resource officers to reduce delinquency and crime in the community; to help develop a better understanding of laws and law enforcement among young people and to develop and maintain a cooperative relationship with the Duluth School District.
Rather than just send out a press release announcing their 2022 roster of school resource officers, they decided to get creative and have some fun. In a series of photos shared on the Duluth Police Department Facebook page, they unveiled them one at a time.
It all started on Wednesday, September 7 with SRO Bill Stauber, who is stationed at East High School. In a funny twist, Officer Stauber wants to be a firefighter when he grows up.
Next came SRO Kelly Hanna, who is working out of Ordean East Middle school. Gym happens to be his favorite subject.
Last Friday, SRO Ed Franckowiak was introduced. Officer Franckowiak dream's of being a professional baseball player when he grows up.
Over the weekend the series of photos came to end when SRO Joel Hopps was introduced. Officer Hoss works out of Lincoln Middle School and loves math!
The Duluth Police Department also shared a SRO team photo, which also included Michael Jambor, the Sergeant of the SRO Program.
Here's hoping all students have a fun, constructive, and safe school year!
