The all-time leader in passing and total offense at the University of Sioux Falls will attend Detroit Lions rookie mini-camp in a different position.

Luke Papilion received an offer to attend Lions mini-camp after not being drafted. His four years at USF were incredible, posting a 37-10 overall record. Awards kept rolling in for Papilion including school records in passing/total offense, and NSIC Player of the Year honors in 2014.

In order to keep his NFL dream alive it appears that Papilion will be moving away from the quarterback position. Detroit Lions beat writer for the Detroit Free Press Dave Birkett reports that Papilion will receive his tryout at tight end.

This will be a little bit of a switch for Papilion who has played quarterback dating back to his high school days at Cherry Creek High School in Colorado. In an official release by USF, Papilion says he's excited for the opportunity.

"I am extremely excited for this opportunity with the Lions," said Papilion, who has been training in Denver, Colo. "I feel grateful that the Lions are taking a chance on me. This just moves me one step closer to achieving my goals. I am ready to get to work (with the Lions)"

Detroit's rookie mini-camp begins on Thursday, May 11.
