Joe Rogan Points Out Big Sioux River is ‘Brown Toilet Water’

On Friday's episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Rogan roasted Governor Kristi Noem's "Meth. We're On It" campaign. He also roasted the brown body of water that flows through Sioux Falls.

At the 45:08 mark in the YouTube video, Rogan and his guest, comedian Tim Dillon, were discussing American presidents allegedly hopped up on amphetamines. His producer Jamie brings up the now famous "Meth. We're On It." campaign. His reaction is strong. And correct.

"This is the dumbest f***ing ad campaign I've ever seen in my life!"

"That sounds like a f***ing Onion article."

Then, while showing the website for OnMeth.com, which features a photo of downtown Sioux Falls, Rogan notices that the Big Sioux River is a stark shade of brown.

"What's up with that f***ing brown water? How 'bout you fix that f***ing toilet water you got your kids swimming around in."

If you want to get mad, you can, but he's not wrong. The Big Sioux is as brown brown can be. I took this photo in 2017 on the bike trail near Western Avenue. I was amazed at how brown it was and wrote a satire article about a diarrhea incident on the river.

Every time I turn around, this campaign makes our state look more and more stupid. In the immortal words of Scott Hoy: "Please stop!"
