Rumor Has It Elon Musk Wants to Buy the Minnesota Vikings

This is circulating on social media, but is it actually true? Minnesotans also had some strong opinions about it.

Biggest NFL Purchase Record
The story claiming that Elon wants to buy the Vikings is a site called Luxury Blog (which does NOT look like a reputable source) and it was shared in the Facebook group 'Skol Vikings'. The story claims that Elon will make an offer to buy the Vikings for a whopping $30 billion.
I needed to know just how record-breaking that would be. According to ESPN, the biggest NFL purchase was in 2023 when the Washington Commanders were purchased for $6.05 billion. So $30 billion would absolutely insane and demolish the last record.

Minnesotans React to Elon Musk Possibly Buying the Minnesota Vikings
Minnesotans had some strong reactions to the rumor, mostly negative from what I saw. Some of the responses include:
But the real question is, are the Vikings even for sale?
Are the Minnesota Vikings for Sale?
From what I can tell, the Vikings are not for sale. They've been owned by the Wilf family since 2005 when they purchased the team for $600 million.
But just because a team isn't for sale doesn't mean the current owners won't accept an offer. Especially a $30 billion one.
Is Elon Musk Actually Buying the Minnesota Vikings?
So is Elon actually buying the Vikings? So far everything is pointing to no. When you search for any news about Elon Musk and the Minnesota Vikings nothing comes up except for these rumor mills. Nothing official has happened or been revealed so at this point we just are going to assume it was made up to get people going.
